I like the way the website was so organized and it had all the info I needed for a school project. Jenna - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sarah Cotton's grandfather, General David Thomson was my grandfather as well, several greats back. My aunt, Mabelle Loofborrough, lived with Sarah as a young girl then with her husband Dr. Loofborrough on West Broadway in Sedalia until her death in 1969. At that time I visited Sedalia for the first time and took home a book of history of the Thomson/Smith families in Kentucky and later in Missouri."Sed" Cotton was just a baby in 1834 when the families removed to Missouri and settled Sedville, later Sedalia. At one time, and perhaps now, the Sedalia Chapter of the Daughters of the War of 1812 was named the General David Thomson Chapter. My grandmother, who was HIS granddaughter, was sent an engraved invitation to the opening sometime in the early years of the last century. It is mine now. I realize all the Thomsons and Smiths and Cottons are long in their graves but I would appreciate hearing from anyone with memories of them or of their history. I was born in Sedalia in 1933 lived there untill 1955. My uncle Dutch ran the Pacific Cafe across from the Missouri RR depot. I loved Sedalia and have many good friends there. Thanks for a great site. Bill Mathews of 1951. William P Mathews - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I was born in 1966 at what used to be called Bothwell Hospital. My grandparents used to own the 600 acres just north of Crown Hill Cemetery. They are gone now, but my Uncle Albert Reine is still there. I really miss Sedalia! I'm planning on moving back there for several reasons...most importantly all of my family still lives there. Leroy Dillon, Jr. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nice page and it downloads very fast! I enjoyed it very much. The Internet is a great place to showcase art and increase awareness in the variety of excellent work available. Kyle Allen - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |
